Who’s Behind the Camera?

I’ve been passionate about photography since I was about ten. I saved for months to buy my first DSLR when I was 14, and it’s been a downhill slope since then. I really didn’t do much with photography, as I had shifted my focus to my “grown-up” career, and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. I then went to work as an Engineer providing design and analysis support for aircraft in the defense industry.

Around 2017, I started to pick up photography again, and noticed a lack of professional real estate photographers in the Williamsburg area. Building off the relationships I had with several local realtors, I began shooting houses. Around this time, I also started to get increased requests for aerial photos of the homes. Building off my experience with military aircraft, I was able to acquire a Part 107 certification from the Federal Aviation Administration, allowing me to operate small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones) commercially.

Since then, the company has grown to include so much more. I started Joseph Miller Photography, LLC to provide professional photo and video services, at affordable rates. Using some of the same equipment and technology you might find on a Hollywood set, I strive to provide the best results possible. With capabilities including aerial footage, livestreaming, documentaries, commercials, and portraits, just to name a few, JMP is here to help you tell your story, and communicate what makes you unique.
